WitMind® analysts examined the situation of women in the labor market and came to a conclusion that may surprise – the most competitive sector among women is not IT or finance, which we are used to seeing at the top of desired employers’ lists. Women value the energy sector the most, sometimes with a significant margin. Energy surpasses other sectors in many of the parameters measured by WitMind®.
When evaluating the level of recommendation and engagement, women working in the energy sector are the most engaged and significantly outperform IT and finance sectors, exceeding the overall Lithuanian average by almost one and a half times. The least recommended and engaged women work in manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and public administration sectors.
Women working in the energy sector value the following aspects of their workplace the most: salary and monetary bonuses, additional health insurance, remote work opportunities, flexible working conditions, career advancement opportunities, training, fair treatment of employees by the company, and the competence of the management team.
The highest pride index, surpassing the market average, is observed in the IT, energy, finance, education, culture, arts, and social activities sectors.
This analysis of women’s situations is very useful in demonstrating that the opinions of women and men regarding employers do not always coincide. Therefore, such research data should be of particular interest to employers for whom inclusion and diversity are important topics. They could find answers to what and why women and men value in the workplace and accordingly plan employee attraction and retention strategies.
There is no one-size-fits-all recipe for becoming a competitive employer – the situation varies not only in each sector but also in each region of Lithuania, among different age and gender groups.
In short: our National survey of employees in various sectors assessed the opinions of 3322 employees and provides an opportunity for employers to compare their company with the results from 10 regions of Lithuania, 10 labor market sectors, and analyze the data across 12 demographic analytical segments: gender, age, work experience, intention to change jobs, recommendation index, etc.
